Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been fined 50,000 euros (£43,182) by UEFA for having a financial interest in a betting company.
UEFA launched an investigation into Ibrahimovic last month over his involvement with Malta-based betting company, Bethard.
Ibrahimovic has now been found guilty of violating Article 12(2)(b) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
The rules refer to any individual who "participates directly or indirectly in betting or similar activities relating to competition matches or who has a direct or indirect financial interest in such activities".
UEFA have opted to fine Ibrahimovic and have issued him with a directive "aimed at ceasing the player's association with the relevant betting company".
Ibrahimovic's club, AC Milan, have also been fined 25,000 euros (£21,600).
Reports which emerged in Sweden last month had suggested that Ibrahimovic faced a potential three-year ban for his involvement with Bethard - a suspension that would have effectively ended the 39-year-old's career.
The former Manchester United striker, who returned to the Serie A club for a second spell in 2020, recently signed a contract extension with Milan until the end of next season.
