Chelsea have completed the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa in a record-breaking £117m deal.
Rogers has signed a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge and becomes the most expensive British player of all time, breaking the record set earlier this summer when Elliot Anderson joined Manchester City for £116m.
"I'm so excited," said Rogers. "For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I've always admired since I was a kid.
"I'm really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we've got and where the club is heading. That's why I'm here and I can't wait to get started.
"I've had a few conversations with him [Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso] and I think it's important for me to be here that I need to understand what the manager's like, how he is and how he wants to operate.
"It very much fits with the way I see the game, the way I want to play, and the way I want to be me, and be free and express myself. Him being a part of that was a massive factor in me being here."

Rogers also said he is "really excited" for a reunion with former Man City team-mate Cole Palmer.
'I've known Cole since I was about 14, first in the England [youth] teams and then when we were both at Man City together. We've been speaking about this for a while; we always would love to have played together. So, for it to happen, we're both excited.
"He's non-stop ringing my phone, texting me, and I can't wait. I think that's probably the most special thing, playing with one of your best friends and being around him every day. It's something I'm really excited about."
Arsenal had previously identified Rogers as their top forward target this summer but the Gunners were unwilling to match the fee that Chelsea agreed.
The 23-year-old forward now leaves Champions League football with Villa to join Xabi Alonso's side, who will be without European football in the 2026/27 season.
Versatile Rogers 'a great signing' for Chelsea
Former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris to Sky Sports News:
"It's a great signing for Chelsea. And maybe a bit of a surprise - purely because of the fact that he is coming in from a team that's playing in the Champions League next year, and obviously looking at the reports that [the champions] Arsenal were very much after his signature.
"It's a huge signing. I've been a fan of Morgan Rogers since he was at Man City as a kid. I remember him there and then he really excelled under Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough and has then gone on to another level with Unai Emery at Aston Villa. So, it's a huge signing, but to say that I was surprised would be an understatement.
"As far as where he's going to play I think that will all depend on how Xabi Alonso wants to play. I think at the moment, we're all maybe playing a bit of a guessing game. He played three at the back at Leverkusen and then not so much at Real Madrid, but I think the beauty of someone like a Morgan Rogers is that he is a talented boy.
"I think he can play in the No 10 role, I think he can play both sides of the wings and also - like we've seen in the last England game - he almost played like a number eight.
"There's nothing wrong with having players that are versatile and he is certainly one of them. He's a huge, huge talent and now he will obviously be joining his old mate Cole Palmer at Chelsea.
"He's still young but he's proved it in the Premier League and is a fully-fledged England international. It's a big signing."
What does Rogers mean for Palmer?
Sky Sports News' Chief Correspondent Kaveh Solhekol:
"I remember being at the game between Aston Villa and Chelsea last season and that was billed as being a game between Cole Palmer and Rogers - who was the better No 10? I think on the day, Aston Villa ended up winning that game and Rogers played really well.
"So you have to ask the question - will Chelsea be able to have both Rogers and Palmer in the same side? The two players know each other well. They were together at Manchester City and Palmer's famous 'cold' goal celebration was first invented by Rogers. It'll be up to Alonso to see how he can accommodate both those players in the same side.
"There are no indications that Chelsea want to sell Palmer, far from it. He's tied down to a very long contract and just before the end of the season, he gave a newspaper interview in which he said he was happy at Chelsea and was happy living in London.
"There have been reports seeming to suggest that he may want to move back to the north west, that one day he wants to play for Manchester United, but I think he would cost so much that there are not many clubs who would be able to buy Palmer if Chelsea wanted to sell him."
