Fantasy Premier League is live for the new season, with managers now able to create their squad for the 2026/27 campaign - and stand a chance of winning Premier League match tickets via the Sky Sports Broadcaster League.

Anyone who enters Fantasy Premier League and resides in the United Kingdom will automatically be entered into the Sky Sports Broadcaster League for 2026/27 and there's a big incentive: the manager of the month will get two match tickets to a Premier League game - terms and conditions apply.

For FPL managers who are returning to Fantasy Premier League, there is now an option to get help when picking your initial squad.

While experienced managers can choose to skip this process and select their squad as normal, less-experienced managers and beginners can answer a few quick questions that will shape a squad chosen for them based on their preferences. What's new in FPL for 26/27?

Classic or head-to-head leagues

Fantasy Premier League enables you to create and join up to 30 private leagues with friends.

You can play in classic leagues, with total points deciding the rankings, or take part in head-to head leagues, where managers duel each Gameweek, earning three points for a win and one for a draw.

Position changes

Live updates to mini-leagues

Managers will feel every game this season thanks to real-time updates to leagues and bonus points, with projected bonus points being added to your players' scores after 20 minutes of each match.

Price Change Predictor

This new tool will use official FPL data to track the transfer activity for every player, providing the best possible indication of who is likely to rise and fall each day at midnight UK time. If you make a habit of checking the Predictor every day during the season, you can stay ahead of the curve and steal a march on your mini-league rivals.

New ways to view your squad

Managers are now able to switch between new squad views on the 'Pick Team', 'Points' and 'Transfers' pages to see more player information at a glance.

See how your career history compares

You can now find out how your career history compares with all other Fantasy managers in the world. Your 2025/26 campaign might have been disappointing but, if you add all of your seasons together, are you in the top half or even the top 10 per cent? See your 2026/27 FPL rank as a percentage.

Tweaks to Bonus Points System

The Bonus Points System is an important element of Fantasy as it helps determine the allocation of bonus points awarded in each match. Some tweaks have been made to the BPS for 2026/27 to reduce overlap with defensive contribution points and improve the bonus-point prospects of goalkeepers, full-backs and attacking players.

Later lockdown

The Gameweek 'lockdown,' when scores become final, will now be later, taking place at 9am UK time on the day after the final match of the Gameweek. Previously, this happened one hour after the final whistle of the last match of the Gameweek. The extension allows more time for post-match Opta review data to be reflected in the Bonus Points System and the defensive contribution points. This will help to improve the accuracy of the data used in the final Gameweek scores.

What's happening with chips?

One thing that isn't changing this season is the chips, with managers again having two sets to use across 2026/27 Fantasy. Just like last season, you will have a Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain and Bench Boost chip to use in each half of the campaign, meaning eight chips in total.

You will still be able to roll up to five free transfers.

Last season, FPL managers were given extra free transfers in December to help them plan for the Africa Cup of Nations, but that will not happen this season because the tournament is not taking place in the 2026/27 campaign.

Adobe Express Gameweek Recaps

Introduced at the end of 2025/26, managers will be able to view their Gameweek Express Recaps after the end of each Gameweek. Managers will not need an Adobe Express account to use this feature.

Managers are able to keep their Adobe Express team badges created last season. If you don't have one, you can create one for 2026/27, and you don't need an Adobe account to do so this season.
