Winger searching for new club after being let go by West Brom
Portuguese winger Filipe Teixeira has been released by West Bromwich Albion.
The playmaker joined the Baggies from Academica de Coimbra for £600,000 in July 2007 and initially impressed at the Hawthorns.
However, a cruciate ligament injury in March 2008 dented his progress, and last season he was sent on loan to Barnsley.
West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo has now opted against renewing his contract as the Italian plots for life in the Premier League.
"Filipe is a good pro and gave everything for Albion," said sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth.
"He had a fantastic first season with the club in the Coca-Cola Championship until he got injured.
"After that it was difficult for him to get a run in the team. We'd like to thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future."
In total, Teixeira made 62 Albion appearances, including 24 as a substitute, and scored five times.
