Senegal FA want Newcastle pair to compete in London 2012
Newcastle strike pair Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse could be called up for Senegal's Olympic campaign to face hosts Great Britain.
Senegal Football Association president Augustin Senghor said it would be a 'big mistake' if the prolific duo were not approached to take part.
Ba and Cisse are yet to be contacted but Senghor is confident they would not turn down an invitation from their country.
"If we can strengthen our young team with famous players from great championships like the Premier League, we should," said Senghor.
"We need top scorers like Papiss Cisse."
Privilege
He added: "If we call them [Ba and Cisse], they will come. They are patriotic guys.
"It is a privilege to participate in the Olympic Games. There are many great players who regret not playing in the Olympics."
Senegal, who qualified for London 2012 with a play-off win against Oman on Monday, were confirmed as Team GB's first opponents following Tuesday's draw.
The two sides will meet at Old Trafford on 25th July, with Ba and Cisse potentially playing against a host of familiar faces.
"It will be a very good thing for them to play against their colleagues in England," Senghor added.
"It will create a lot of focus around the game and the stadium will be full."
