'I will not eliminate Real all alone', says Bayern winger

Franck Ribery has admitted the UEFA Champions League semi-final return leg in Madrid is the most important match of his club career so far. Although the France international played in the 2006 World Cup final, he missed Bayern Munich's 2010 Champions League final due to suspension. With the 2012 final to be played in Bayern's home stadium in Munich, the winger is determined to ensure the 2-1 lead his side take into Wednesday's semi-final against Real Madrid is sufficient to progress. "In 2010, I was not lucky enough to play the Champions League final," Ribery told L'Equipe. "It was difficult to experience. Moreover, this year we have the opportunity to play it in our stadium. For the club and our fans, it would be huge to reach it. "Is it the most important match of my career in club football so far? Yes, I agree. It is my most important match so far."

Bust-up

The 29-year-old had a bust-up with team-mate Arjen Robben during half-time of the first leg, for which he received a €50,000 fine. But Ribery insists that is in the past and his only focus is working together to ensure Bayern will meet Chelsea in next month's final. He said: "Robben? It has been sorted out, but I don't want to talk about that anymore. We have an essential match to play and that is the most important. "If we can keep the level we showed in the first leg, we could achieve something great. But we are aware it will be very difficult. Real are very strong. "Currently I am at my best, but I won't eliminate Real all alone. We have to be united and show solidarity to get qualification. "It is a very important match for the club. We have the right potential to get through. We are Bayern. We just have to not put ourselves under unnecessary pressure and play our game."
