Germany striker says he is 'more experienced'

Arsenal new boy Lukas Podolski insists he is ready to prove to manager Arsene Wenger that he has made the right choice signing him. The 26-year-old will join the Gunners from relegation-threatened Cologne at the end of the season for a reported £11million. The Polish-born forward spent three mostly unsuccessful seasons at Bayern Munich before returning to Cologne in 2009. But the Germany international is fully intent on switching focus and believes his new-found maturity will put him in good stead when he officially becomes an Arsenal player in the summer. "When I went to Munich I was perhaps a little too young," said Podolski. "Now I'm more experienced and more mature, I believe in myself more and I'm sure things will work out for me over there. "When I received the offer I quickly realised it was the right path to take. Arsenal are undoubtedly a huge name in football with a great coach and a fabulous stadium." Podolski, who has scored 43 goals in 95 appearances for Germany will join international team-mate Per Mertesacker at Arsenal.
