Striker unsure of Hearts future but open to staying
Striker Craig Beattie admits he is unsure over his Hearts future but hopes he can stay on at the club.
Ian Black and Rudi Skacel are set to leave as the club look to cut their wage bill and Beattie, who moved to Tynecastle on a short-term contract in February after being released by Swansea, is unsure of his future.
He is open to staying if it is a viable option after a cameo appearance off the substitutes' bench in the 5-1 Scottish Cup triumph over Hibernian.
The 28-year-old said: "It was a bit emotional out there.
"I've not been here long but I know what the club means to guys like Blackie and Skacel. They're going to be moving on to pastures new and I wish them every success.
Viable option
"I don't know personally what I'm doing. I'm certainly open to staying if it's a viable option.
"We'll sit down with my advisors and the club and see what we're going to do."
Beattie played a key role in the Scottish Cup run, scoring in the quarter-final win over St Mirren and the penalty winner against his former club Celtic to win the semi-final.
Beattie, who tasted previous Scottish Cup successes with Celtic, when he was an unused substitute in 2004 and 2005 and came off the bench in 2007, added: "It's right up there. Since I've come in I've made a massive impact in the cup games we've played - St Mirren in the quarter-finals, Celtic in the semi-final.
"Because I'd played such a big part I feel this is one of the most valuable and most memorable.
"We controlled the game, our big players turned up and we were tremendous from start to finish."
