Premier League: Sean Dyche delighted with Burnley's recent upturn in form

Burnley manager Sean Dyche says he is pleased with the progress his side are making in the Premier League following a torrid start.

The Clarets secured their third win in six games thanks to a 1-0 victory over Southampton at the weekend, a result which lifted them out of the relegation zone.

But Dyche's side face a tricky Christmas period with games against Tottenham, Liverpool and champions Manchester City before a New Year's Day clash at Newcastle.

"We've worked very hard to where we have got to so far," Dyche told Sky Sports. "We've been happy with the progress made. I did speak in the first 10 games of the season when a lot of questions were asked of us about winning games.

We know we've got some awkward games coming up and some big games coming up, but we are looking forward to them because we want that challenge.

"I did about the team growing and learning. We have put ourselves in a good position at the moment. We've got some good performances and some good points on the table, but there are no guarantees going forward.

"We know we've got some awkward games coming up and some big games coming up, but we are looking forward to them because we want that challenge."

Burnley are currently fourth in the form table with one defeat in their last six top flight matches and Dyche has warned their rivals that they won't lie down easily as they continue their battle against the drop.

"There have been a few games against some of the teams that are having an indifferent time down there.

"Now beating Southampton, I think people will maybe raise their eyebrows a bit and think 'hang on a minute, they're a fair side', and we had to work very hard to get that victory and we will have to do that again."
