Portsmouth are interested in talking to Southend boss Phil Brown about becoming their new manager, according to Sky sources.
Pompey parted company with Andy Awford on Monday after a poor run of results in March and April left them in 14th place in League Two.
Brown is in the last few months of his contract at Southend and is currently focused on getting them promoted.
There has been no official contact between the two clubs but sources say Brown would be interested.
Portsmouth are hoping to appoint a new manager in the next four weeks. Gary Waddock has been put in temporary charge.
