St Johnstone’s Brad McKay has hit out at Hearts forward Juanma Delgado for going down too easily in their Scottish Premiership meeting at the weekend.

McKay, who only left Tynecastle at the end of last season, was livid with the Edinburgh club’s new Spanish striker and labelled him a ‘typical foreigner’ for the way he conducted himself.

The Scottish FA are aware of McKay's comments, but the compliance officer has not begun an investigation. It is still to be determined if McKay has a case to answer. Some cases are fast-tracked with in a week, but Sky Sports News HQ understands this incident will not be.

Delgado scored just four minutes into his league debut as Robbie Neilson’s men went on to win a 4-3 thriller through Sam Nicholson’s late goal.

McKay wasn’t impressed by the 24-year-old though for the way he threw himself around – and thinks Hearts fans themselves will soon grow tired of his antics.

The defender said: “He’s a typical foreigner, he gets touched and goes down. He was holding the back of his head and rolling about the place.

“He’ll win penalties and free-kicks in dangerous areas but I don’t think he can keep that up. The Hearts fans will get on his back as well.

“He did well with a couple of their goals but I don’t think they appreciate going down so easily. I don’t think anyone does in Scotland.

“As a defender, you don’t mind a tussle but obviously he doesn’t like that. He’s going to have to get used to it.”
