Lionel Messi scored his 500th goal for Barcelona during a 3-2 win over Real Madrid on Sunday - but when and how did he score them all?
The 29-year-old cancelled out Casemiro's opener at the Bernabeu and struck his 500th Barcelona goal with the last kick of the game to seal victory, sending the Catalans above Los Blancos on head to heads atop La Liga.
Messi played most of the first half with a cotton wool gag in his mouth after an early clash with Marcelo left the Argentine bloodied.
Ivan Rakitic fired Barca into the lead with 17 minutes left to play before Real defender Sergio Ramos was sent off for a reckless challenge.
Despite playing with 10 men, substitute James Rodriguez levelled the scores in the 85th minute but Messi stole the show with his 500th Barcelona goal to crush Madrid hearts.
Messi scored one goal in his inaugural first-team season at the Nou Camp in 2004/05, but hit 38 during 2008/09 and smashed a staggering domestic career peak of 73 in 2011/12.
