Burnley midfielder Joey Barton picks his #One2Eleven on The Fantasy Football Club.

Barton, who picks a 3-4-3 formation, has played for Newcastle, Manchester City, QPR and Marseille, as well as picking up an England cap.

GOALKEEPER: Peter Schmeichel

I've been fortunate enough to play in front of great goalkeepers, but the one who had the most influence on me in my formative years at Man City was Schmeichel. He was a huge, huge influence around the dressing room. I remember being on the training ground and he wouldn't let there be any balls in the back of the net. He was OCD about it. He would get really irate and frustrated because he said he wouldn't have any balls in there on a Saturday so he won't have any in there during the week.

DEFENDER: Richard Dunne

A player who was very, very underrated. They used to call him the Dunney Monster the City fans, because of his size. Because of his nature, he did not really get the headlines, and I think if he was English he would have got a lot more plaudits.

DEFENDER: Fabricio Coloccini

Ferocious character, the year we got promoted and the year we were first back in the Premier League he was outstanding, following a really tough start to his Newcastle career. He struggled in his first year.

DEFENDER: Sylvain Distin

We didn't realise how good he was until he left. He had everything, good in the air, good on the ball, good athlete, great professional, great trainer.

RIGHT MIDFIELD: Shaun Wright-Phillips

I remember him coming through and making it, and remember thinking if Wrighty can do it, I can do it. He had a phenomenal spell at City, it was ridiculous at one stage, he would shoot from anywhere and it would go in the top corner. Everything he touched turned to gold.

CENTRE MIDFIELD: Kevin Nolan (captain)

Great human being, the best captain I've played for, and somebody who scored a ridiculous amount of goals from midfield in the Premier League and didn't get an England cap. He was our fulcrum at Newcastle, and any team I'd pick I'd have to have him in.

CENTRE MIDFIELD: Nicky Butt

Really, really good in the dressing room, and was quick to pull people in line but would equally use a lot of humour as well. Butty had a great role as defensive midfield in the [2002] World Cup.

LEFT MIDFIELD: Ali Bernabia

He was unbelievable. He took City up virtually single-handedly in 2002. I will have to ask Ali to play on the left, he'll hate me for doing that, but he can come in into the pocket.

FORWARD: Robbie Fowler

We became really good pals, the way he looked after me and took me under his wing. The cleanest striker of a football I have ever seen. He was capable of everything. I've never seen anything like it before and I'll never see anything like it again.

FORWARD: Andy Cole

I used to pick his brain about how strikers moved, where they want the ball. Just because of the amount of Premier League goals he scored, he has to go in.

FORWARD: Nicolas Anelka

Through sheer ability and the amount of Premier League goals he scored. I have to leave some good players out, it's so difficult to do!
