Jermain Defoe's late goal at Liverpool causes Super 6 heartbreak

Liverpool fans weren't the only ones ruing Jermain Defoe's late Anfield strike, with the Sunderland striker's equaliser also costing one Soccer Saturday Super 6 entrant the £250,000 jackpot.
The Reds looked to be cruising to victory at Anfield at 2-0 up until Adam Johnson reduced the deficit with eight minutes remaining, a goal which put Anna Moullin from Guernsey on course to become the third jackpot winner of the season.
However, in the 89th minute, Defoe denied the Reds three points and the Super 6 pay out as he turned Mamadou Sakho in the box before firing past Simon Mignolet.
There was compensation in the form of £5,000 for the closest predictions, with a £1,000 bonus for nailing five correct scores.
It was the second time in three weeks that a winner has been denied in dramatic fashion, with Nacer Chadli's 95th-minute strike for Tottenham against Crystal Palace preventing two players from sharing the £250,000 prize.
Soccer Saturday host Jeff Stelling said: "Another dramatic day in the Premier League and yet more late drama in Super 6!
"I was with her in backing Liverpool to win 2-1 and she won't be adding Mignolet to her Christmas card list when she sees the goals he conceded tonight."
