Dimitri Payet, Christian Fuchs, Diego Costa... Who scored the best Premier League goal in October?

There were plenty of contenders last month, from long-range stunners to slaloming solo efforts and curling finishes in the top corner.

Here are the contenders for October Goal of the Month...

Dimitri Payet (WEST HAM 1-1 Middlesbrough)

With West Ham needing a lift after four successive league defeats, Payet provided. Picking the ball up on the left flank, he spun away from his marker, evaded several tackles and then fired home.

Willian (Hull 0-2 CHELSEA)

The Brazilian opened the scoring in style against Hull, checking back on to his right foot on the edge of the box and then curling a shot into the top corner.

Jose Holebas (Middlesbrough 0-1 WATFORD)

A goal worthy of winning any game. Holebas fired a fine left-footed strike past Victor Valdes to secure all three points for Watford at the Riverside.

Christian Fuchs (LEICESTER 3-1 Crystal Palace)

Fuchs could not have timed his first Premier League goal much better, coming just a few days after he signed a new deal with the Foxes. It was a cracking strike too, on the half volley from outside the area.

Xherdan Shaqiri (Hull 0-2 STOKE)

Shaqiri was the star of the show for Stoke at Hull, opening the scoring with a brilliant strike and then making it 2-0 from a free-kick. It's the first goal that makes the cut.

Sergio Aguero (West Brom 0-4 MAN CITY)

Aguero ended his scoring drought in style, checking inside on the edge of the box and then firing a shot past Ben Foster.

Diego Costa - (Southampton 0-2 CHELSEA)

A sumptuous goal from Costa sealed an impressive win for Chelsea at St Mary's, with the striker curling an effort beyond the dive of Fraser Forster.
