Man City Under-23s beat 10-man rivals Man Utd Under-23s 3-1 in the Premier League 2 on Monday.
Goals from Brahim Diaz, Isaac Buckley-Ricketts and Paolo Fernandes gave Simon Davies' side the victory after United defender Regan Poole was sent off in the 14th minute.
It means Man City kept up pressure on Everton at the top of the Premier League 2 table, trailing the Toffees by two points, while United are ninth, two points off the drop zone.
Diaz hit the post early on as City dominated possession, before Poole was dismissed for a dangerous lunge on Fernandes.
United goalkeeper Joel Pereira denied both Diaz and Jadon Sancho early on, but Diaz finally broke the deadlock minutes into the second half with a left-footed effort from a cutback, while Sean Goss slid in to equalise for hosts United shortly after.
Buckley-Ricketts then bundled home after United goalkeeper Joel Pereira denied Diaz from a one-on-one, before Fernandes sealed the points with a low effort from 15 yards at Leigh Sports Village.
