Who were the best combined XI from an exciting weekend in the Premier League? Sol Bamba and Kevin Nolan have made their choices.

With the two Manchester clubs and Liverpool racking up impressive wins, there was plenty of top talent to pick from for the pair - but with Bamba playing a big part in Cardiff's last-minute victory at Southampton, would he make the cut?

Watford also edged out former manager Marco Silva's Everton, while Crystal Palace came from behind to earn a draw at home to West Ham. Burnley upset the odds to win 3-1 at Brighton, and unconvincing Arsenal edged out Huddersfield at the John Smith's Stadium.

So who made Bamba's and Nolan's teams? Read on...

"I like the front three so I couldn't let any of them miss out. I decided to go with three at the back to make sure I could keep my attacking players together.

"Tom Heaton had an unbelievable game, he's been superb since he's come back and helped them get the result at Brighton. It was a very good first game back for Chris Smalling at Fulham, and Virgil van Dijk, I just love him. He's the best defender in the league, and Andy Robertson, he's the best left-back in the league.

"Georginio Wijnaldum had a very good game for Liverpool and scored a goal, Paul Pogba is full of confidence and he's back to himself, and he got another two at Fulham.

"Christian Eriksen's a good player, I love him and he scored a goal too, Raheem Sterling was electric against Chelsea on Sunday, and deserves to be here.

Roberto Firmino has been picking up recently, he's back to himself - for me Sergio Aguero is the best striker in the Premier League and Anthony Martial has been very good recently too.

"It speaks volumes to see how much Burnley turned it around since Tom Heaton has come back in and not lost a game since he's arrived.

"It shows how much presence he has being captain of that club, and for me he's been one of the best 'keepers in the Premier League over recent weeks. He needed to be.

"Daryl Janmaat had a really good game at the weekend against Everton, Davinson Sanchez scored against Leicester and obviously, I've got to put Sol Bamba in because he's stood next to me! I didn't want anything to happen.

"Everything else is pretty much the same really, I've changed Firmino for Heung-Min Son but that aside it's mostly the same."
