Jamie Vardy is April's Premier League Player of the Month, while Pep Guardiola has won the manager's award.

Leicester striker Vardy scored five goals in four top-flight games in April, before failing to find the net in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Monday Night Football.

That win took Guardiola's side top of the Premier League, a point ahead of Liverpool, with one match left to play.

It followed five straight league victories in April for City, which included wins against Tottenham and Manchester United.

Highlights from Manchester City's 1-0 win over Leicester in the Premier League.

Party time for Vardy

Vardy, 32, beat off competition from Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City), Shane Long (Southampton), Ayoze Pérez (Newcastle United), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and Chris Wood (Burnley) to win the public vote.

He has now scored 18 Premier League goals this season, after stepping aside from England duty following last summer's World Cup in order to allow younger players to come through.

Pep beats Klopp to award

City manager Guardiola beat off competition from Jurgen Klopp, Scott Parker and Nuno Espirito Santo to win the monthly award for a seventh time, after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of football experts.
