Manchester United are not ruling out signing Ederson this summer despite a breakdown in the deal over a medical issue.
United denied the deal was off to Sky Sports News last week after reports emerged in Italy, and, although it will not proceed at the initial price and structure, the club may come back to signing the Brazilian later in the window.
For now, United have turned their attentions to other midfield targets as they close in on the £36m signing of Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa after agreeing a £50m transfer for Andrey Santos with Chelsea last week.

United had agreed the structure of a £38m deal with Atalanta and personal terms with Ederson in June and the intention was to conduct a medical and conclude the transfer in early July.
However, a late call-up to the Brazil World Cup squad following an injury to Wesley meant part of the medical had to be arranged in the US - and this indicated a potential issue.
No decision was made at that point and a full medical - including help from third-party specialists - was pencilled in for after Brazil's tournament had come to an end. In the meantime, further groundwork and background checks continued and time also allowed United to work on other targets, for whom they have moved quickly for this past week.
A full Ederson medical took place last week, which has concluded in United not proceeding on the current agreed terms, and United are understood to be extremely sympathetic to the player and his family.
It remains possible they return for him before the window is over, depending on how the market develops. But Sky Sports News can confirm Andrey Santos has not been signed as an alternative to Ederson.
United continue to work diligently on improving the squad while remaining disciplined within their budget.
On Monday, it emerged that they are triggering a release clause in Tielemans' Villa contract, while they are also set to announce the signings of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and free-agent goalkeeper Karl Darlow following his departure from Leeds.
Man Utd closing in on Tielemans deal
Discussions are advancing quickly for Man Utd to sign Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £36m after Belgium's exit from the World Cup.
Tielemans has been at Villa since 2023, when he joined on a free transfer from Leicester City, and has made 134 appearances for the club, scoring 10 times.
During that time, Villa have twice qualified for the Champions League, reached the quarter-finals in that competition and won the Europa League last season under Unai Emery, with Tielemans opening the scoring in the final against Freiburg.
Before joining Villa, Tielemans won the FA Cup and Community Shield at Leicester.
