Swedish midfielder in talks after break in negotiations
Birmingham have restarted contract discussions with midfielder Sebastian Larsson following a break in negotiations.
The Blues opened talks on a new deal with Larsson following their relegation from the Premier League in 2008, but the Sweden international could not make up his mind on his future.
Birmingham then took up a 12-month option on his existing contract, however, this is set to expire next summer.
The 25-year-old's representatives met with the club's acting chairman Peter Pannu last week, and could now be set for a new contract.
Birmingham will be keen to get an agreement sorted sooner rather than later, as Larsson will be free to talk to other interested parties in January over a possible pre-contract agreement if nothing is finalised before then.
Larsson has been at St Andrews for three years, after initially moving on loan from former club Arsenal.
