Bolton ace pleased with rehab
Bolton Wanderers star Stuart Holden is pleased with how his progress is going as he continues his rehabilitation from his knee injury.
The American midfielder was ruled out for six months in September, just as he was poised to return from a previous knee injury which had sidelined him since March.
But the 26-year-old insists he can see the light at the end of the tunnel, despite a tough few weeks.
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't devastated and in that deep, dark hole for a couple of weeks. I initially thought I'd be going in for a routine operation," Holden told
Talksport.
"I'd work so hard the last six months to get playing and for that to happen, I needed to switch my phone off and needed time to myself.
"Once I got over that hump, it was back to me and being positive and getting back on the pitch.
"I've done everything I can do so far in rehab, I've really got my head back on straight and I'm actually looking forward to doing the work because I know once I get back it'll all have been worth it.
"I've kept in touch with all the boys. It is tough being around the team when you can't play, especially when you've suffered a major setback.
"The club has always been good about encouraging me to get time back home."
