Blues assistant does not believe midfielder will leave

Chelsea assistant manager Roberto Di Matteo does not believe Frank Lampard will be leaving the club in January. The England international has been linked with an unexpected move to rivals Manchester United to bolster Sir Alex Ferguson's midfield. Question marks have been raised over Lampard's future at Stamford Bridge after being in and out of Andre Villas-Boas' starting XI. Di Matteo believes Lampard is a 'fantastic' player and is going nowhere having played a key role in the club's success over the years.

Happy

"We're very happy that Frank is in our team because he's a fantastic player," said Di Matteo. "He's been a fantastic player season after season for many, many years for this club and for his country. "I'm not surprised all the managers like him. I can't really see him go or leaving this club. "He's been here for 10 years and he's part of the successful history of this club. "I don't know what the future will hold, but I can't see him going anywhere. "He's part of our plans and he'll be very important for us."
