Newcastle MD sees forward as excellent acquisition
Derek Llambias, Newcastle's managing director, has hailed Senegal international forward Papiss Cisse as perfect for Alan Pardew's team.
Newcastle signed the £10million frontrunner on Tuesday in a five-and-a-half-year deal and Llambias is confident the 26-year-old Cisse will make a significant impact.
"We are very pleased to bring Papiss to the club," said Llambias.
"It is a signing which perfectly complements the type of side Alan is building, and we are sure he will prove to be an excellent acquisition going forward.
"He has travelled a long way to come and sign with us today, and we thank the Senegalese Football Federation for their assistance in helping us secure the player."
Upon completing talks with Newcastle, Cisse was whisked away and jetted back to Africa to re-join the Senegal squad.
