Potters striker keen to win more starts under Pulis

Cameron Jerome has revealed he has volunteered to play in Stoke City's reserve team in a bid to improve match sharpness. Jerome has been a regular in the club's Europa League campaign, but has mustered only nine Premier League appearances. The former Birmingham striker emerged off the bench against West Brom at the weekend to score the club's leveller. It was Jerome's third goals in four appearances and he is keen to win more league starts for Tony Pulis' Potters. Jerome admits to being frustrated at kicking his heels on the sidelines, however, he knows it is a squad game at Stoke.

Opportunity

"The manager doesn't like the lads playing in those games, but I asked him if I could get a run out," he told The Sentinel. "I have to keep fit and sharp, and take my chances when they come. I am knocking on the door and hopefully my time will come. "The manager knows I am there. I train well and, when I come on I make an impact. I have also done well in the European games. "But we have a big squad and everyone will play their part. It is my time on the sidelines at the minute and it is frustrating. But the most important thing is the team. "We have been on a good run, playing well on all fronts. You don't change something that isn't broken, so lads have to be patient and wait their turn."
