Swansea City have decided not to appeal against the red card received by winger Nathan Dyer against Wigan on Saturday.

Club say red card was 'extremely harsh' but decide not to appeal

Swansea City have decided not to appeal against the red card received by winger Nathan Dyer against Wigan on Saturday. The 24-year-old was dismissed on the hour-mark for a high tackle on Wigan's Jordi Gomez. The club have claimed that the red card was "extremely harsh", but they admit they were worried that the appeal would incur an increase to the ban. Dyer will miss the next three Premier League games against Manchester City, Fulham and Everton and will return against Tottenham on April 1. He has been a near ever-present in the Premier League this season, playing in all-but-one of their games. The former Southampton man has also been linked with a call-up to the England squad with his form helping the Swans impress on their bow in the Premier League.
