Gunners lacking commitment, says Wenger
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted his side's display in the 2-1 defeat at QPR 'was not good enough'.
The Gunners were beaten by Rangers in a well-fought London derby and suffered a blip in their quest to finish in the Premier League's top four this season.
QPR took the lead through Adel Taarabt before Theo Walcott equalised, but Samba Dikite scored the winner for the home side after some lacklustre defending from Thomas Vermaelen.
Wenger said: "I feel our performance wasn't good enough in this kind of game, they had that little bit extra commitment and took advantage in specific positions defensively.
"Overall, you have to congratulate QPR for their attitude and be unhappy with our own performance. What we produced today was not good enough.
"The pitch is bad but that doesn't explain our bad performance, the performance of QPR explains our bad performance.
"I do not want to single anybody out but we made defensive mistakes today.
"It is a good shock for us today. I felt subconsciously something was missing today and in the Premier League if you miss something on the commitment front you get beaten."
Asked if his side were complacent, Wenger replied: "It is difficult to say, but why not? It is difficult to say one reason. When you play against a team who play for survival you have to prepare.
"The players prepared properly but they missed something today and you could see that.
"We didn't create enough chances. We lost a game when our keeper had nothing to do and it's not the first time this year, because we are too open when we lose the ball.
"We know how to respond. We have been exposed many times this season to this kind of situation."
