Wigan boss focused on keeping Latics in top flight
Roberto Martinez insists he and his Wigan players are focused on keeping the Latics up, despite speculation over their future.
Earlier this month the Spanish manager rubbished claims he was set to quit the club this summer while fresh reports have linked him with Greek giants Olympiacos.
There has also been speculation about the likes of Hugo Rodallega, James McCarthy and Victor Moses, but Martinez, who last summer resisted overtures from Aston Villa to stay at the DW Stadium, is too busy trying to keep Wigan in the Premier League to worry about what might happen this summer.
"I have got no time to think about that," said the 38-year-old. "Those stories are there - so be it - but I don't think we have to talk about them.
"With all these stories, as I've always said with players, if you get attention from other clubs it must be because we are doing something right.
Concentration
"We should all be pleased, but we will never lose concentration on the job in hand.
"What we have got on our hands is one of the biggest moments in the club's history. Any story that is away from that - it is not the time and it is not important."
Wigan have certainly been focused in recent weeks, winning four of their last six and beating Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool in the process.
And that is without Rodallega, who scored the vital winner that saw Wigan beat the drop on the final day of last season.
The Colombian striker has been out for seven weeks with a knee problem but
Martinez is hopeful he will feature in Wigan's last three games, with Newcastle visiting the DW Stadium on Saturday.
"We will assess him over the next two days but he is slowly getting ready to make the squad, which is great news," Martinez added.
Big moments
"Hugo has got something quite special - he has been able to grab the big moments and score goals.
"We all saw what happened last season and that is something natural. I don't think you can coach that to anyone.
"To have that in the squad is of real value and all we want is everyone in the squad to be fit and available to help the team in the last three games.
"There are going to be big moments, big emotions and we need every player ready to perform. Hugo is no exception."
