Lukas Podolski is frustrated at a lack of playing time at Arsenal and says he will be considering his options.
The Germany international has been at Emirates Stadium since the summer of 2012, but has struggled to hold down a regular role throughout his two seasons in England.
With Arsene Wenger blessed with a wealth of attacking options, Podolski often finds himself resigned to a place on the bench.
The 29-year-old, a man with 118 international caps to his name and a World Cup winners’ medal, admits he cannot continue to be a support act.
Podolski insists that he will not look to force the issue at Arsenal, but he will give serious thought to his future ahead of the January transfer window.
He told Deutsche Presseagentur while away on European qualifying duty: “Definitely, I cannot be satisfied with the situation I am in at Arsenal.
“I have not been in negotiations with other clubs, nor have I told Arsenal that I am looking to leave.
“I have just said how the situation is for me. I am under contract at Arsenal and I am unable to say, ‘I am off’.
“I am going to think things over soon as it’s going to be winter time.”
Oliver Bierhoff, director of football for the senior Germany side, said on Podolski’s situation: “I would advise him to carefully consider his situation with his club, to have a chat with the manager too.
“He needs to find the best solution, one he really enjoys.”
