David Bentley scores a hat-trick as Blackburn hold on to beat Manchester United in 2006

David Bentley became the first player to score a Premier League hat-trick against Manchester United as Blackburn won a 4-3 thriller at Ewood Park.

Bentley's first two goals might not have been the most pleasing on the eye but the third was a superb shot rifled into the bottom right-hand corner.

Mark Hughes post-match said: "I think we have got a bargain in David Bentley - a young lad with a great career in front of him."

Dennis Bergkamp added to his superb repertoire of his goals with this exquisite finish against Newcastle in the 2001/02 season

Dennis Bergkamp scored one of the most memorable hat-tricks in Premier League history at Filbert Street.

Bergkamp broke the deadlock during the first half when he curled in a shot, before lofting the ball over the goalkeeper to give Arsenal a two-goal advantage.

Leicester pegged Arsenal back to 2-2 but though the points looked set to be shared, Bergkamp had other ideas. In the 90th minute, he scored a magnificent third to settle proceedings.

The Dutchman controlled David Platt's long ball into the area with his right foot, brought the ball inside and then produced a glorious finish past Kasey Keller.

Bergkamp said: "In my mind, I knew I wanted to do it like that and it worked exactly as I had planned it just two seconds before. With these sorts of goals, there is a lot of skill involved and it has to come together."

Thierry Henry gets the Invincibles back on track with a hat-trick against Liverpool in the 2003/04 season

This was arguably Thierry Henry's most meaningful contribution in an Arsenal shirt.

Arsenal's season was in serious danger of going up in smoke when Liverpool held a 2-1 half-time lead at Highbury after suffering elimination from the FA Cup and Champions League in their previous two games.

In an extraordinary one-minute second-half period, everything soon changed. First, Henry and Freddie Ljungberg combined to set up Robert Pires to equalise. Then Henry scored one of the best goals of his Premier League career.

He majestically glided past Didi Hamann and Jamie Carragher before finishing past Jerzy Dudek and his hat-trick soon followed. Arsene Wenger's side went seven points clear at the top and all talk of a crisis soon disappeared. The rest was history.

Peter Crouch scored the first hat-trick of his club career when Liverpool dismantled Arsenal at Anfield.

Crouch showed superb movement for his first, turning in Alvaro Arbeloa's cross, before adding a second with a towering header.

He completed the hat-trick with 10 minutes to go, lashing home a shot into the top corner with his opposite foot.

The Liverpool striker was understandably delighted after the game and said: "I'm pleased with it. It is a special moment."

Eric Cantona dismantles Tottenham with a hat-trick for Leeds in the 1992/93 season

Eric Cantona scored the first hat-trick in Premier League history as Leeds hammered Tottenham 5-0 at Elland Road.

Leeds were on the wrong side of a 4-1 defeat just three days earlier against Middlesbrough and responded like a wounded animal.

Cantona scored a well-hit shot, a header and a volley. His third goal went in with just a minute gone of the second half and he could have ended up with a hatful more if it wasn't for his unselfish play.
