Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is one of four nominations for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for August.

Manuel Pellegrini, Claudio Ranieri and Garry Monk are the other candidates as the country awaits the league's return this weekend after the international break

Palace won three of their opening four matches, including a memorable 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge - only Jose Mourinho's second home defeat in 100 league games - scoring at least two goals in all of their games.

Pellegrini has guided Manchester City to a 100% start to the season. They scored ten goals including three against Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion and have yet to concede in any of their opening four games.
