LA Galaxy president Chris Klein says the club's "doors are open" for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but has conceded the forward wants to stay in Europe.

Ibrahimovic is a free agent following his release from Manchester United at the end of last season and is currently working his way back to fitness after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in April.

United manager Jose Mourinho said earlier this month that the 35-year-old could be given the chance to resume his career at Old Trafford, even following the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at the club.

And despite still being keen on a deal for Ibrahimovic, Klein admitted a move to bring the former Sweden international to the MLS this summer could be at an end.

"We have an incredible relationship with Zlatan and his agent," Klein said.
