Alexis Sanchez has already impressed his new Manchester United team-mates on the training pitch and boosted morale in the squad, according to defender Luke Shaw.

Sanchez, who completed his move from Arsenal on Monday, trained with the squad for the first time this week and Shaw believes he has had a positive impact on the team's morale.

When asked how Sanchez was settling in at United, the left-back told MUTV: "Really good. He has trained over the last three days now. He's unbelievable.

Jose Mourinho uses an analogy about an orange tree to explain his opinion of Manchester City's reaction to not signing Alexis Sanchez.

"We all knew what he was capable of anyway. He's been with us for a few days now in training and some of the stuff he's done is unbelievable.

"After training the other day, there were four of us outside there doing free-kicks and he literally put five in the top corner in a row and we all were just like 'wow, this guy'.

"It's really good to have him - he's a good guy and he'll be even better on the pitch, so I'm really looking forward to playing with him and hopefully he can add to the attacking threat we've already got.

"We've got unbelievable players up top and he's only going to boost the strength in depth we have."

The Chile international is the first signing of the January transfer window for United, who have won all four games in all competitions this month, but Shaw is backing Sanchez to improve the side further.

"I don't know what's changed but I think there's a really good vibe in the camp at the moment in training.

"Sometimes it hasn't been pretty in the games but the most important thing is the points and we've been getting the points.

"We need to keep getting points and keep looking forward and keep going.

"We've obviously got a new signing which has boosted the morale at the training ground and around on the pitch. Things are going good and hopefully it can carry on."
