Nicky Butt: Manchester United's head of academy arrested on suspicion of assault

Manchester United's head of academy Nicky Butt was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Greater Manchester Police were called on Tuesday after reports a woman had been assaulted at a house in Hale.
A police statement said: "The woman received a small cut to her hand and does not require hospital treatment.
"A 44-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries."
A spokesperson released a short statement on behalf of Butt on Wednesday afternoon: "Mr Butt strongly denies any allegations or suggestions of an assault and will continue to co-operate and assist the police with their ongoing investigations."
Butt, who made 387 appearances for the club between 1992 and 2004, was appointed as head of academy in 2016.
