VAN BOMMEL IN LEEDS SNUB
MARK VAN BOMMEL has revealed that he would prefer a move to Manchester United rather than Leeds.
Leeds were reportedly pondering a £15 million bid for the PSV midfielder, who is sidelined with a knee injury, but the Dutch international has indicated Old Trafford would be a more favourable destination.
"I have heard about Leeds but if I move to England, I want to go to Old Trafford," the 24-year-old is reported to have said.
Former team-mate at the Philips Stadion Ruud van Nistelrooy joined the Red Devils in the close season and van Bommel seems keen to follow in the footsteps of the talented front-man.
PSV have a good relationship with United after the sales of Jaap Stam and van Nistelrooy in recent seasons but the Eindhoven club have maintained that van Bommel will be staying put.
