Pardew: Bell tolls for us

West Ham Boss Alan Pardew has praised returning David Bellion.

Pardew believes that Bellion, who arrived at the club on loan from Manchester United for the season, has shown great character to bounce back from adversity.

Bellion, following the 4-2 win against Wednesday, will now fight for a starting berth - but may have his work cut out after impressive performances from the likes of Teddy Sheringham, Bobby Zamora and Marlon Harewood.

"To have suffered a broken leg and come back, and got a goal, was a real bonus for him," said Pardew.

"He got us out of trouble on the night.

"I'm really pleased for him and he has started well.

"It is important to have him because we have been a little short up front without him."
