Evra completes United move
Manchester United have completed the signing of Patrice Evra from Monaco.
Manchester United have completed the signing of French defender Patrice Evra from Monaco.
The 24-year-old international has penned a three-and-half year deal at Old Trafford after completing all his medicals at the club's Carrington training headquarters.
The Senegal-born star can play on the left in defence or midfield, and Sir Alex Ferguson has already hailed the options that Evra will bring to United's squad.
United are believed to have paid around £5 million for Evra, taking United's spending to well over £10 million following the capture of Serbian Nemanja Vidic last week.
The left-sided star is pencilled in to figure in United's Carling Cup semi-final at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports 1.
Evra was also targeted by Internazionale but opted to head for Manchester once he was made aware of Ferguson's intentions.
