Corry Evans claims he would have no problem walking away from Manchester United in the summer.
The 20-year-old, who is the younger brother of Red Devils defender Jonny, is set to see his contract at Old Trafford expire at the end of the season.
A loan spell at Championship outfit Hull City has offered him an opportunity to impress, but he accepts that his path to the United first-team may remain blocked for some time yet.
As an ambitious Northern Ireland international keen to make a name for himself, Evans is not prepared to slip silently back into the shadows.
He insists he would be prepared to leave Old Trafford for pastures new, with there little point in continuing down the same path.
No fear
Seeing United reject an offer from Hull on deadline day suggests there could be a future for him under Sir Alex Ferguson, but Evans is willing to keep his options open.
"It's a club you grow to love," he told the
East Riding Mail.
"I supported Man United as a child but if the day comes I won't be afraid to move on.
"It's my career and I'm not going to sit about in the reserves for the rest of my life.
"If first-team opportunities don't come there I know I'll have to look somewhere else."
