Fergie hints at Spurs Berba move

Striker yet to agree move to Fulham

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has raised the possibility of record signing Dimitar Berbatov returning to Tottenham. Berbatov has been in talks with Fulham and underwent a medical at Craven Cottage on Thursday after turning down moves to Fiorentina and Juventus. Cottagers boss Martin Jol spoke optimistically about sealing a deal for Berbatov before Friday's deadline. However, Ferguson on Friday insisted no deal had been completed and claimed there could yet be a twist in the striker's future with a return to Tottenham a possibility. "I do not know what has happened," said Ferguson. "He has not gone yet. I do not know anything about it. There's not been any contact from him. "We thought he was in Italy but it turned out he isn't. He could be anywhere. I really mean that. "I wouldn't be surprised if he was at Tottenham. There are rumours going around. I do not think it is settled at Fulham."
