Valencia have not received any offers from Manchester United for Nicolas Otamendi, the club have told Sky Sports News HQ.
Newspaper reports claimed the Argentinian defender had been discussing personal terms with United but a Valencia spokesperson says there was no basis to the articles.
Valencia say they will not sell Otamendi, 27, for anything less than €50m while also describing reports of United's Robin van Persie moving to the Mestalla the other way as “nonsense”.
Centre-back Otamendi enjoyed another superb season at Valencia, playing 38 times and scoring six goals as they finished fourth in La Liga.
Otamendi is currently on international duty at the Copa America where his Argentina side drew their first game with Paraguay 2-2.
He began his career in his home country with Velez Sarsfield before a move to Porto in 2010. He then moved to Valencia in 2014.
