Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says that their 4-0 win at Stoke wasn't easy despite the scoreline and added that his side must rest ahead of another busy week.

Antonio Conte has set his sights on Atletico Madrid after Chelsea's crushing victory over Stoke on Saturday.

The Premier League champions were ahead inside 80 seconds as Alvaro Morata scored the first goal of his maiden hat-trick for the club in their 4-0 victory at the bet365 Stadium.

Chelsea resume their Champions League campaign in the Spanish capital on Wednesday, and Conte has challenged his side to replicate their fine display.

"It wasn't easy despite the 4-0 result," Conte told Sky Sports. "We must be pleased and satisfied to win away against Stoke because they are a strong team at home. Now it's important to rest well and prepare for another game against Atletico Madrid.

"We took our chances but it's normal to come here and suffer. Arsenal lost here, Manchester United drew but we won and we deserved to win.

"In the second half we scored twice and made more chances to improve the result, but it wasn't easy.

"We are in good shape. We are rotating and the answer from my players is positive.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes said that errors cost his side in their 4-0 defeat to Chelsea but added that Alvaro Morata had an excellent day for the champions.

In the week it was confirmed Diego Costa was set to re-join Atletico Madrid, Morata looked more comfortable than ever in the role as his successor as Chelsea's main striker.

The Spaniard almost notched another couple of goals in addition to his first Chelsea treble, and Conte was full of praise for his club-record summer signing.

"It was a really good performance from Alvaro," he added. "It means we have created chances for the striker to score, it happened last season, and it will happen again this season.
