Chelsea supporters were not happy with manager Maurizio Sarri after his decision to replace Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain endured a difficult Premier League debut as he was substituted during Chelsea's 4-0 defeat by Bournemouth.

The Argentine forward made his Chelsea debut in the FA Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday, but he was selected for the first time in the Premier League by manager Maurizio Sarri on the south coast on Wednesday night.

Higuain was a subdued presence throughout the 65 minutes he was on the pitch at the Vitality Stadium, however, with Nathan Ake and Steve Cook closely marking him throughout his display.

The 31-year-old was replaced by Olivier Giroud shortly after David Brooks had doubled Bournemouth's lead, and it led to an unhappy reaction from the travelling supporters, who were heard voicing their displeasure towards Sarri.

"You don't know what you're doing," could be heard being chanted from the travelling section as Chelsea fell to their heaviest Premier League defeat in 23 years.
