Antonio Conte keen on football return after Chelsea sacking

Conte says Chelsea is a "matter of the past for me"

Antonio Conte says he is ready for a return to football management in the summer, but admits he is unsure of his next club.

The Italian was sacked by Chelsea in July - two months after guiding the club to the FA Cup - and replaced by compatriot Maurizio Sarri.

Conte, who had one year remaining on his Chelsea deal when he left the club, is understood to have a clause in his contract which means he is not allowed to move to another English club until the summer.

He was, however, linked with Real Madrid after Julen Lopetegui was sacked in October but, Sky Sports News understands he ruled himself out of the vacancy as he felt it was not the right project for him.

Asked about his future, Conte told Sky in Italy: "I surely miss being in the dugout, but I had decided to have a year of rest and I'm very calm while I wait to know my new destination. I don't know what it will be.

"I'm in Milan because I went to see the Atalanta-Juventus game, I came here from London and I'll be in Turin tomorrow. I did not receive any offer from Italy."

Conte's former side Chelsea fell to a 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

Asked if he saw the result, he added: "Did they? I didn't know about it. I was watching the Atalanta game.

"Anyway, Chelsea is a matter of the past for me."
