Ex-Liverpool boss Benitez admits he wants top club for next job

Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has refused to be drawn on speculation linking with him the manager's job at Chelsea. The Blues are looking for a new manager following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas on Sunday after less than a year in charge at Stamford Bridge. Benitez, who has been out of work since leaving Inter Milan in December 2010, is thought to be among the contenders to succeed Villas-Boas in West London. The Spaniard refused to discuss the possibility of taking over at Chelsea, but admitted he would want to join a 'top club' as he plots his return to management.

Future

"You never like to see any manager lose his job," Bentitez told Sky Sports News HD. "It is a pity, but you can see football going very quick when before people were more patient. Now you have to win almost every week. "I experienced it in Spain and Italy where it is even worse because after two or three weeks you are under pressure and you have to accept the situation. "I would like to have in the future a top club, a top side that you can fight for the title and you can challenge. "That was the idea always when I came to Liverpool - we were winning trophies at the beginning and after Inter it was the same and Spain was the same."
