Radamel Falcao's father has claimed his son's dream is to play for Real Madrid, which is unlikely to go down well at Atletico Madrid.

Shock claim from striker's dad

Radamel Falcao's father has now claimed that his son's dream is to play for Real Madrid, which is unlikely to go down well at his current club Atletico Madrid. The comments also come just days after Radamel Garcia claimed that his son wanted to play in England. Now whilst speaking on Spanish television, Falcao's father says that the Atletico star still dreams about playing for Real. He does add that if a move to Real was not forthcoming then he would indeed switch to England - with Chelsea long-term admirers. "His dream is to play for Real Madrid," Radamel Garcaa told the programme 'El Gran debate de Todelar'. "Since he was a boy he's always wanted to play there. Other teams in Europe like Chelsea and Manchester City were interested in him. If he can't play for Real Madrid, he'll play for a team in England." Falcao was in sensational form last week, blasting a hat-trick in Atletico's European Super Cup win over Chelsea - but Garcia says he did not attend the game in France as his son thought he could have been sold before that match on Friday. "He didn't know if he was going to be sold or not," he said, "Of course he wants to go to the 2014 World Cup, but most of all, he wants to go to Real Madrid - he will change teams at the end of the year." Perhaps embarrassed by his father's unexpected confession, Falcao took to his official Twitter account to express his commitment to his current club. He tweeted: "Just so the whole world is clear: my dream is to win titles with Atletico Madrid and to qualify for the World Cup with Colombia." Garcia's comments emerged after another Spanish television programme 'Punto Pelota' claimed Real wanted to sign Falcao.
