Divock Origi says he enjoyed playing in a front two with Daniel Sturridge during Liverpool's EFL Cup victory over Tottenham.

Sturridge scored twice as the Reds downed Spurs 2-1 to progress to the quarter-finals on Tuesday, while Origi went close himself with an effort saved well by Michel Vorm.

Origi is yet to start in the Premier League this term and is hoping he made his case to manager Jurgen Klopp.

"Of course, it's been a while since I played 90 minutes, so you have to get in the game," he said.

"I think Daniel and I tried to look for each other and we're very happy that he scored. He's a top striker. We created the chances all together and it's a good thing that we have a lot of options everywhere."

The draw for the quarter-finals will be made after Wednesday's fourth-round ties, including Manchester United's derby against Manchester City live on Sky Sports 1HD.
