Robbie Fowler believes the current title race is the best in Premier League history and insists Liverpool can upset the odds and overtake Manchester City on the final day of the season.
A thrilling end to the campaign sees City travel to face Brighton on Sunday, while Liverpool host Wolves - with both games live on Sky Sports.
Just one point separates the two teams heading into the final day and Fowler believes either club could end the week as champions.
"It's the best one because it's now. Everyone has enjoyed it because no one has really walked away with the league," said Fowler, speaking at Run For The 96 race in Liverpool.
"We've seen it in the past where at this stage of the season there is a team that's already won it but to keep it going until the last day, it's probably what everyone wants.
"Pep [Guardiola] came out and said there was a bit of Liverpool bias in the media but I don't think there is. People have enjoyed it because there's been two wonderful teams toing and froing for a long time now.
"No one has let up and I think both teams have been magnificent."
Fowler added: "It's City's to lose. They've got a wonderful team with tremendous players and you would expect them to go to Brighton and get a result but stranger things have happened."
The race for the Premier League Golden Boot will also be decided on Sunday, with Mohamed Salah, Sergio Aguero and Sadio Mane all in contention for the award.
Salah leads the way on 22 goals, with Aguero, Mane and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang two behind in the standings.
Fowler has backed Salah to win the award for the second consecutive season, after continuing the form which saw him score 32 league goals in his first season at Liverpool.
"He's a magnificent player," said Fowler. "He was missed during the week but hopefully he'll be back. I'm like any Liverpool supporter, I like our players to be fit, firing and scoring goals.
"Aguero is a tremendous player, he really is. His record in the Premier League is brilliant, so for Mo to be ahead of players like that - that speaks volumes.
"People were saying he was one season wonder and here he is now, two goals clear going into the last game."
