Baros blasts quit talk

Milan Baros has blasted speculation that he had a row with Rafa Benitez.

Milan Baros has blasted speculation that he had a row with Liverpool's coaching staff at Sunday's Carling Cup final.

The Czech Republic striker was disappointed to be left on the bench for his side's 3-2 defeat to Chelsea and some newspapers claimed he is seeking a move away from Anfield in the summer.

After experiencing a real low point when being replaced after coming on as a substitute in his previous League Cup final appearance against Manchester United, it was certainly not a day to savour again in Cardiff.

However, Baros has rubbished reports that he clashed with manager Rafa Benitez and was fuming with the Spaniard's team selection.

"My goodness, what are these speculations?" he asked Idnes.

"I don't know where they have got this information from. Maybe this is only speculation from a few press men.

"And do you know what is the real truth? I haven't spoken with anybody for two days.

"We were given a rest and I haven't even been at our stadium.

"It's nonsense. I had no row with anyone from our coaching staff."

Baros concedes that he was disappointed to be left out with Benitez opting to play Fernando Morientes in a lone striking role at The Millennium Stadium.

"It's sure that everyone wants to play," said the 23-year-old.

"But, in this case, I would never escalate it in such a way as was published [heading back to Liverpool and refusing to sit on the bench].

"It started well. What a pity we did not score to make it 2-0."
