Deportivo La Coruna have completed the signing of Antonio Barragan from Liverpool.The defender has penned a five-year contract with Depor, although Liverpool will have the option to buy him back in 2008.
The transfer fee is believed to be in the region of ‚é¼2.5 million (£1.7 million).
The 19-year-old Spaniard was also a target for Real Betis but plumped for the Estadio Riazor largely because of coach Joaquin Caparros, who he worked with at Sevilla a couple of years ago.
Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro was thrilled to snap up such a promising young player.
"This is a great signing for the future of Depor," he commented.
