Dutch ace eager to beat United after dumping out City

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has set his sights on completing a Manchester cup double this weekend. The Reds dumped Man City out of the Carling Cup on Wednesday night, booking a place in the final against Cardiff on 26th February. Now they face arch rivals Man United in the FA Cup at Saturday lunchtime, knowing that victory at Anfield would put them into the fifth round. "The lads are more than ready for the weekend," said Kuyt. "It will be great not only to knock out City in the Carling Cup but to knock out Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Target

"We set a target on Wednesday night so we have to make sure we play with the same effort as against City and I am sure we will find that. "We can be happy about what we have achieved in reaching Wembley but we have to put that aside because there's another massive game coming up." The game comes just two-and-a-half days after a hard-fought 2-2 draw with City, which saw Liverpool go through on aggregate having won 1-0 at City. United haven't played since winning 2-1 at Arsenal last Sunday but Kuyt is confident Kenny Dalglish's men will not be affected by fatigue. "I think we are used to playing every three days from when we were playing in Europe in the Champions League," said the Holland international. "We were playing big games every two days and that's what Liverpool football club should be about. "It's great to have two great games in a week and we are all focusing already on the next game and we're desperate to win it. "I think that is one thing we showed against City - that we can compete with the best teams in England."
