Liverpool are likely to be without Adam Lallana for the next month after the midfielder sustained a thigh injury.
The 26-year-old was forced off after 55 minutes of the Reds’ New Year's Day encounter with Leicester at Anfield with what manager Brendan Rodgers called "a tweak in his thigh".
Rodgers confirmed the prognosis after Liverpool's narrow FA Cup third-round win at Wimbledon but said he hoped to have the England midfielder back sooner.
"More or less, it might be a wee bit shorter than (a month)," the Reds boss said.
"It's a slight strain that he has, so no real timeline on it, but hopefully it won't be as long as that."
Lallana scored a brace in Liverpool's 4-1 win over Swansea last week and made his sixth consecutive start against the Foexs.
But he is now expected to miss both legs of the Capital One Cup semi-final against Chelsea, as well as several Premier League matches.
Lallana has scored four goals and registered two assists in 14 Premier League appearances for Liverpool this season.
